Wellness Matters: Health and Wellbeing in offices and what to do about it. Stakeholder Consultation and Expression of Interest

30 May 2017

In April 2017 the British Council For Offices (BCO) commissioned a major research study “Wellness Matters: Health and Wellbeing in offices and what to do about it”.

The year-long project will provide definitive guidance on how to enable office Health and Wellbeing across a building’s lifecycle

The study will critique existing Health and Wellbeing measurement and certification and identify the most recent and relevant medical evidence justifying a proactive approach to Health and Wellbeing in the built environment.

Most significantly, this research will deliver a practical guide to creating a healthy environment across the different stages of a building’s life cycle, from design, construction and leasing to the most important aspect by time and value: occupation and asset management.

The final Road Map needs to be relevant to all stakeholders across office building lifecycles so industry feedback and consultation is therefore essential. The BCO Wellness Matters Team would therefore welcome your support undertaking our Wellness Matters Stakeholder Survey.

The Survey

The survey will take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. It is open to all industry stakeholders, NOT just BCO members,  including Owners, Investors, Advisors and Service Providers to establish individual perspectives to ‘Health & Wellbeing Matter in Offices’ relating to the following themes:

  • Relevance
  • Awareness
  • Drivers
  • Barriers
  • Responsibility

Please feel free to share the survey link with teams within your organisation.

The closing deadline for the Survey is Friday 30th June 2017

Stakeholder Round Table Events & Project Case Studies

The survey also includes a call to any respondents or representatives from their organisations who would like to participate within any stakeholder round table consultations.

The survey also includes a call for Case Studies for documented exemplar projects or initiatives that have successful implemented Health & Wellbeing strategies to be included in the final research report.

The BCO and the Wellness Matters team will follow once the survey closes after 30th June 2017.
